Bill Abernathy
Lindsay McDiarmid (aka kiwimanz) purchased this bodywork from Bill Abernathy of Southern, OR. Bill designed and built the body himself as a one off to fit a Lola T340 SV conversion to DSR. It was originally designed after a Nissan Group B car.
The body is hand laid carbon fiber which was vacuum bagged. "Bill did a great job and the whole body only weighs 53lbs. Not too bad for a home project! Of course Bill is in the composite business and does heavy truck repair."
Wheel base on the body is 89 inch. Lindsay's LMD DSR car started life as 90 inch A-Mac, but through an install of a Quaife it shrunk to 89 inch.
The body is getting a make over. The SV scoop has been taken off and a air induction cowling is now installed up around the roll hoop, ala Formula 1 style. Lindsay says, "My plan is to finish the engine cowl / air intake. Then I plan on slicing through the body just behind the roll bar. It will end up as a two piece body with the floor still attached to the car."
