"Designed and built in Ohio. This is a one-off H-Mod, built by a guy in Ohio and used largely for autocrosses (gymkhanas back then). It was built in '59. Based on the design and construction, it looks like the builder took a look at some other H-Mods of the day (particularly the Jabro), then built this -- probably without plans -- himself.
It has a welded-up tube frame with aluminum panels in the center section. The nose and rear are fiberglass.
Everyone associated with the car simply referred to it as the Little Red Car. (Actually the builder's wife refers to the color as Pepsi Cola red.)
Now that these cars are being given a little more respect, maybe it deserves a more formal name -- how about the Voigt-Crosley LRC?"
